Information for Patients / Parents

Appointments are generally 30 minutes with our specialists. After a discussion of the symptoms he/ she will examine you/ your child and then may perform an echocardiogram should it be necessary. This will require you/ your child to lie still in a semi-darkened room for 15-20 minutes.

For younger children and babies it is recommended that parents bring toys, bottles of milk, food, electronics such as iPads, smart phones, YouTube etc as a distraction. Please bring the child's favourite if you think helpful.

After the echo scan it may be necessary to perform other tests such as an electrocardiogram (ECG), height, weight, oxygen saturation, blood pressure and chest X-ray.

After the investigations your specialist will discuss the results, conclusions and if needed treatment plan.
